In today's modern world that often equates leadership with strength and being indestructible, being vulnerable can feel impossible. As women in this society, we often find it hard to embrace our authentic selves. In reality showing up as your true self and being comfortable in your own skin, flaws and all, will help you to build trust, enhance your relationships, boost your confidence and hopefully inspire others. As I transition into this next stage of my life and add business owner to my list of titles, I challenge myself to become more authentic.
Entering the world of entrepreneurship can make your life more exhilarating but also more exhausting. I found myself first unsure and intimidated by the thought of putting my aspirations out to the world. Questioning to myself what if no one wants to hear what I have to say? What if people do not find my story inspiring or if they find it boring? Through this doubt I remind myself, doubt destabilizes our faith. So instead through this journey I will trust more deeply even when things become overwhelming.
I have finally found the courage to begin this new chapter. How? By choosing to trust my inner voice, stand with my values and welcoming my imperfections. I will ignore social expectations, professional demands and even my internal skepticism. I have started this journey with self-reflection, honesty, and the acknowledgement that my journey is not unique. While my story may not be unique, by embracing transparency, I hope to inspire others to open themselves to endless possibilities regardless of how their journey began. I challenge you all to be unapologetically you and step into a life lived with intention and purpose.
